dr. Urška Pivk Kupirovič joined research group “Nutrition and Public health” in year 2017. Her focus is research and evaluation of nutritional quality of foods with the nutrition profile models with a wish for product reformulation to support better a consumer choice in becoming a healthier choice. She works also in different Slovenian and international research projects. She gained her past experiences in food industry, explicitly in two World leading food producers (Nestlé in Danone) including 5 years of work in Switzerland. Her work was closely linked with science and regulation to promote and ensure compliance of functional food products as well as other beverages, dairy, breakfast cereals, ready meals and many more. She got her PhD at the University of Ljubljana in field of biotechnology with Nestlé scholarship. With her PhD work she significantly contributed to the understanding of mechanisms behind fat perception in food.

Nutrition institute is engaged in research and education in the field of nutrition and advising the food industry in the formulation and labeling of foods. In the scope of the institute, research group Healthy Nutrition is established, which performs research on food and nutrition.
