Dr. Hristo Hristov is a researcher in the agro-food marketing and consumer behavior. His principal areas of study include food production and processing, food quality, safety and health, and the role of individual difference variables on consumer perception, attitude and behavior. He was involved in research projects covering a broad range of topics, from food and beverages quality, to consumer behavior for local and regional foods, as well as studies related to food supply chain relationship and animal welfare. Dr. Hristo Hristov has co-authored papers in international journals such as British Food Journal, Poultry Science and journals related to Agri-Food economics. He also has comprehensive experience in wine production and quality and has spoken on quality signaling and consumer wine decision-making at various national and international conferences. Current research interests include consumer behavior with focus on nutritional knowledge, trends in food production and evaluating the validity of nutrient profiling systems.
