Lara Zajc, MSc Nutrition and Health

Researcher

Lara Zajc is a researcher at the Institute of Nutrition. She is involved in the research program Nutrition and public health, as well as in various national programs and projects carried out within the research group. Among other activities, she actively contributes to the preparation of content for the national portal of food and nutrition Prehrana.si. In addition to her research work, she is also engaged in public communication in the field of promoting a healthy lifestyle through social media.

She obtained her bachelor’s degree in laboratory biomedicine from the Faculty of Pharmacy at the University of Ljubljana. She completed her master’s degree in Nutrition and Health at Wageningen University & Research, where she gained hands-on experience in research and clinical study conduct. She further developed her interest in the impact of nutrition on health through her master’s thesis, in which she explored the relationships between the Mediterranean diet, aging, and gut health. She completed her studies with a research internship at NOVA Medical School in Lisbon.

Institute of Nutrition is engaged in research and education in the field of nutrition and advising the food industry in the formulation and labeling of foods. In the scope of the institute, research group Healthy Nutrition is established, which performs research on food and nutrition.
